The Strata series is designed by the CTRLZAK studio for the Medius Terra collection of Urbi et Orbi in 2024.

Inspired by the natural geological formations of the earth (stratification), the diverse landscapes, and the geological phenomena of the Mediterranean region. The overlapping layers of mineral compositions represent the geological history of the Mediterranean and our planet in general. The subsidence, erosion, and volcanic activity create layers of various materials on the surface, symbolizing the passage of time. The Strata series, from another perspective, encourages reflection on our perception of time through geology and the natural world.

The Strata concrete stool can also be used as a side table, designed for both indoor and outdoor use, and features a unique finish that can only be achieved with cast concrete. Each piece is unique and different, maintaining the purity of the design concept. It was a construction challenge for us, and we loved it from the first moment it was still a design. We developed special production techniques to achieve such a natural appearance.

Ideal for professional or domestic spaces, available in a cool and warm color palette. Due to the nature of concrete, this stool acquires charm from its character; the passage of time will age it naturally and further enhance its beauty.
